His Love is Relentless

God relentlessly pursues His people and never lets them go. Despite this truth, I loosen my grip of God the moment I can't see where I'm headed. I like control and to know where I'm going.

I wander aimlessly asking "God where are you?" Despite asking this question I know in the core of who I am I know God is in me: His spirit lives in me. Therefore I can never escape God or His love. Because of His love, he relentlessly pursues me even when I get caught up in things of this life.

He desires intimacy from me daily: that is one thing I can always pray for that is within what He desires for me. I can never be too intimate with Him. More than anything in this life, I should crave deep intimacy with God.

Through intimacy my soul is satisfied and God is glorified. And that brings me an inner joy. He relentlessly pursues me: I just respond to His call.

This Is Revival

Revival.

that's a strong word. But what is it? How does it come to happen? Revival happens when a leader or leaders have a vision.

Visions must be saturated with the truth of God to initiate any revival of hearts. Before community revival happens, there must be a fresh personal revival. The truth of God needs to cancel out all the lies that have formed in me. This begins when I turn to God and reach out to Him: knowing He is the only hope I have for any sort of change.

I am beginning to see my heart turning back to God so I am equpped to point others toward the Truth. That is my prayer: that people around me will see the truth of God in me and they will be motivated to dig deeper into a life of intimacy with God.

The Truth of God Cancels Out Lies

Two (2) things God has taught me recently:
(1) Truth isn't comfortable
AND
(2) Truth convicts

Truth isn't comfortable because when I read His word, that requires an attitude and mind shift. When I meditate on the truth, I am aware of what keeps me from Him. Then I evaluate my life and choose to change.

Truth also convicts me of sin in my heart and mind. His truth penetrates the deepest part of me and then I question what I'm really about: God or the world?

The world is full of lies that creep into my mind that sometimes go unnoticed. And when they go unnoticed, it leads to a damaged relationship with God.
Only His truth can cancel out lies.

By bridging these two characteristics of truth together, they build my faith stronger in Him.

Growth is Always on Me

I have realized that growth is always on me. When I don't see growth in my life and when I feel distant from God, that's on me.

I need to take responsibility for my own maturity. In the depths of my soul, I know God wants me to be wholly mature, not lacking anything.

Honestly, I lack motivation and I'm a little apathetic. The reality is the motivation to grow isn't always easy.

I don't want easy. I want the truth of God to penetrate my life: so I'm left changed.

This is what I'm learning as the summer progresses.

Words

I actually pulled this from one of my journals from last year:

There is no argument that words have power, they create worlds in which we live. We are defined by our words.
Words define us and we define words, shaping our world and ideologies.
We are founded by our words and also build our lives around the foundations of words.

Words create worlds.

We can tear our world apart by our words- both spoken and written.
Can we go any place where our words don't follow us? Where they don't come back and haunt us? We can build others up
Tear them down....
We can't run from our words.

This got me thinking about the many words I speak daily.
Maybe whenever I speak or write something, I should consider the impact of my words.
I want to speak in truth, not just the "Christian" sense- but speak what is true. Life is too short to speak words that lie, hurt, cause pain- the list can go on.

More than anything, I want words I speak to bring healing, truth, beauty, Life!!

After all, my words are meant to be all for His glory,
